Meet Rebecca

A love of animals.
A life built around them.

I’ve wanted to work with animals for as long as I can remember. That took me to studying equine at Writtle College, but it was a dog called Milo who helped me find my direction.

Milo was the first dog my partner and I brought home together: a powerful Bullmastiff cross with endless energy and very little interest in good manners. I adored him, but our training classes weren’t giving us the help we needed. I wanted to understand him better, so I started researching, learning and eventually studying dog training formally.

He changed far more than our daily routine. He set me on the path to doing something I love.

Every dog teaches
you something

Since then, I’ve worked in dog daycare, walking and training, gaining qualifications including those from the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT). I’m still learning, and I bring that knowledge into the way I work with dogs and their people.

Shortly before we sadly lost Milo during lockdown, working cocker spaniel puppy Ollie joined our family. He soon discovered a love of agility, opening up another area for us to explore together—and one I’ve since started teaching too.

Then came Rocky. I met him while walking dogs for a rescue fosterer, although I think he’d tell you he found me. He seemed to decide I was his person, and a month later he was home with us. He brought plenty of energy and a wonderful lack of awareness of quite how much space he takes up.

All three have shaped the way I work. They’ve reminded me that there’s always more to understand, and that enjoying your dog matters just as much as anything you’re trying to teach them.

Someone you can
feel comfortable with

I’m comfortable working with dogs of all breeds and sizes, including large, powerful dogs. I like getting to know the individual in front of me: what they enjoy, what worries them and what helps them feel at ease.

That goes for their people too. You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out, and there’s no judgement if things feel a little chaotic. I’ve been there.

Through The Canine Social Club, I want to offer the kind of support I was looking for with Milo: someone approachable and dependable, who takes the time to listen and helps you find a way forward you can both enjoy.
